Ep 024: From WAG to business woman

Share the love, spread the word

with Jules Ingall

Jules Ingall is the wife of retired V8 Supercar racing driver Russell Ingall and for more than 20 years, she played a support role to her professional athlete husband.

Now though, she is establishing herself as a travel destination photographer, which sprang from her efforts to post positive and beautiful images on social media to counteract the negativity she was seeing and being exposed to.

In this episode, Jules talks us through her experience of being a wife and mother and devoting her time to those roles and the process of slowly carving out her own pathway after Russell retired from driving.

You might assume this is easy for Jules, as someone with a bit of celebrity behind her, but Jules talks about how she has had the same guilt and trouble establishing herself as the rest of us do.

This is a beautiful chat about sacrifice, commitment and the challenges for women who want to work or have their own business and career.

“I say to my daughters I don’t want them to be like me. I want them to be independent.

“It’s really important that you’re never dependent on someone.

“It’s been an adjustment for them because I’ve always been there when they need me.

“They’ve seen me go from nothing to achieving something. They’ve seen me go from being a mum to creating a career and I think it’s a good example for them.”
